Mrs. Stephene Carr-Demetrius is a proud graduate of West Indies College (Northern Caribbean University) and Atlantic Union College. She holds both B.S. and M. Ed in Education along with Denominational and Georgia State Certification at the Professional level. She has been in the teaching profession for 45 years.

Mrs. Demetrius has been at DAJA since its inception and was quite instrumental in naming it DAJA. She is also a recipient of the 1992 "Zapara" Award for Excellence in teaching, the 2000 Eagle Award for continued service to Education and the 2003 Outstanding Woman in the Community award in Atlanta.

Mrs. Demetrius loves people and most occasions seem to come alive in her presence. As a result, she is often called upon to perform whether as a singer, poet or Christian humorist. She loves to interact with people of different cultures ad can say Good Morning in more than 100 languages.

Mrs. Demetrius met her best friend, Percel, 49 years ago and has been married to him for 34 years. A daughter Zanthea 32 and a son Terence 30 have been the joy of their lives.

Mrs. Demetrius is a true Jamaican (dawta) who loves to make people laugh. Most of all she loves the Lord and is determined to lead others to follow him at all cost.
